ARCHITECTURE CHALLENGE | Aarhus | Denmark | Year: 2013 | Collaborators: Andrei Gheorghe, Alexander Kalachev

The workshop focused on a strong emphasis on hyperboloid geometries, dome structures, and catenary simulations run trough GH in Kangaroo. As a group effort a project has been developed which geometrically negotiates two intersecting hyperboloids with catenary curves conciliating their intersection points to blend the two shapes into each other in the mid part of the project. As a further progress the base geometry has been articulated as a rib structure with intersecting structural joints with differentiated angles at their intersection points. A 5 axis water-jet cutter has been used to cut all the pieces from 12mm osb sheet material.
